Nabua, Fiji – 31 October 2025 — In a significant step toward advancing inclusive education and digital literacy, The ASCO Foundation today officially donated 50 laptops to the Ministry of Education for distribution to schools across Fiji.

The handover ceremony took place at the ASCO Motors Showroom in Nabua, where the Honourable Minister for Education, Mr Aseri Radrodro, officiated the event. His presence highlighted the government’s commitment to improving digital access and enhancing learning outcomes for students in underserved communities.

Also present at the event were representatives from Datec Fiji, including the chief Financial Officer Mr Nivlesh Buttru. As part of this initiative, Datec will provide one year of backup technical support for the donated laptops, ensuring schools receive ongoing assistance to maintain and maximise the use of these devices for educational purposes.

Speaking at the event, Mr Ronald Kumar, Trustee of The ASCO Foundation & CEO of Asco Motors Fiji, emphasised the organisation’s deep commitment to bridging the digital divide and supporting students who lack access to essential learning technologies.

“The ASCO Foundation & ASCO Motors believes that every child deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, and succeed, regardless of where they live or what resources they have,” said Mr Kumar. “This donation is not just about technology, it’s about empowerment, inclusion, and investing in the future of Fiji.”

The laptops will empower students to participate in interactive, personalized learning while equipping teachers with tools to deliver engaging and innovative lessons. By integrating technology into classrooms, this initiative supports the development of critical thinking, creativity, and digital fluency, skills essential in today’s global economy.

The partnership with Datec Fiji adds a vital layer of sustainability to the program. With ongoing technical support, schools will have access to professional expertise and troubleshooting assistance, ensuring the laptops remain functional and impactful throughout the academic year.

“This collaboration between the ASCO Foundation, the Ministry of Education, and Datec Fiji demonstrates the power of partnership between the private and public sectors in driving national development,” added Mr. Kumar.

Beyond the classroom, the donation is expected to create a ripple effect across communities by enhancing digital literacy and increasing access to online learning resources. Through this initiative, the ASCO Foundation continues to strengthen its relationship with local communities and reaffirm its role as a trusted partner in Fiji’s social and educational advancement.
